Supporting the Next Generation of Scientists and Engineers
Bright Minds Experience at RAPID + TCT 2023
In efforts to prepare and supports the next generation of additive Manufacturing (AM) and engineering talent, NSL welcomed visitors from 15 high schools to their booth at Rapid + TCT Show last week. The SME Education Foundation, previously the Society of Manufacturing Engineers, organized a Bright Minds Student Summit at the Rapid + TCT Show to encouraged students to participate in hands-on challenges, tour industry, and learn from the exhibitors that would provide insights into potential career pathways.
At the NSL booth, students that visited learned of opportunities in advance materials testing and the importance of testing through various stages of the AM process. NSL explained requirements for testing and analysis of materials used in 3D printing, what needs to be evaluated and validated in the final product or component. Mike Nakonechny, NSL’s Director of Marketing and Sales, and coincidently former science teacher, shared his thoughts on the Bright Minds Experience.
“Visiting the Rapid show was a great opportunity for these young minds to see entire ecosystem of additive manufacturing. The energy and interest from these students to learn more about this technology was impressive. SME did a fantastic job organizing this event. NSL is very proud to support such a valuable cause for the future. ”-Mike Nakonechny, Director or Sales and Marketing
NSL made sure it wasn’t all work and no play, we invited students to end their tour by popping in our photobooth for a prop filled snap of the future recruits.
