Brazing & Soldering

Brazing is a materials joining technique using a filler metal that is melted to bond two different parts together.  If the process uses a material that melts below 450C (842F) the process is considered soldering; if the process uses a material that melts above 450C (842F) then it is brazing.

Testing the Chemistry of the Brazing Filler Materials

NSL Analytical is testing the chemistry of the brazing filler materials using ICP and also provides RoHS testing for solder and braze materials.  This is essential as these materials are used when no other welding method will work (e.g. ceramic to metal bonding), for repair of gas turbine engines, and for the highest performance consumer electronics.
